I’m migrating to Jira
For the past four to five years, I’ve been using YouTrack as my personal issue tracker for all of my various projects. Despite this, I’ve been slowly migrating my project tracking to the more widely used Jira.

reflection
The notion of an iPad being able to replace a Mac, pixel for pixel, has always been strange to me. While the proposition is tempting, and I could realistically see myself doing that in the future, the iPad won’t be able to completely replace a Mac for me. And I’m totally okay with that.

After spending about two weeks playing The Witness, I realized that the game is a great metaphor for the journey I’ve been on for the past four years at Goucher College.

I was content with my website, going strong for nearly four years on GitHub Pages with custom CSS and Jekyll static site generation. In recent iterations, I focused a lot on speed and readability by trimming out large images and focusing heavily on text posts.

2021 trailed in with the destruction and mayhem 2020 offered, and it didn’t seem like it’d get any better at first. Despite these trials and tribulations, I’d like to think that 2021 turned out better for me than 2020.

When I first set my goals for 2021, I had anticipated learning a lot more about Kotlin and its quirks. And what better way to put it through the test, by using it in a game jam?

Game jams are kind of like a roulette of good and bad luck; you never really know how a game will turn out until the jam in question is over.

I recently participated in the 129th Trijam game jam in which I had to make a game in three hours. While I didn’t quite make that mark, I had a lot of fun participating in last week’s jam.

So long, 2020, and good riddance. I hope 2021 will be better than the dumpster fire that was the previous year, and I hope to accomplish some more things this year. Earlier in December, I posted a short list on Ko-fi with some goals I had in mind. Since then, I’ve thought of a couple extra goals.

Okay, so that was a thing… 2020 really threw us in for a loop.

For the Fall 2020 semester, I developed a game for macOS called The Costumemaster. Suffice to say, it didn’t work as intended, and I didn’t get anywhere exciting with it. However, I did play with machine learning in the final weeks of the semester.
